Within each network that you want to protect, it is necessary to install a Datto device and each machine must have installed the software supplied with the Datto device and save the backups on the device itself. Each backup is a complete and bootable image of the system; the Datto device replicates backups within Datto’s cloud or in private cloud: this ensures the presence of a copy of the system and data outside the network being protected. The data is automatically replicated to the cloud.

In the event of a server crash, the Datto device is able to start a server identical to the original in a few seconds, taking it directly from the backups and will be immediately available to all users.

In the event of a catastrophic event for which the entire network is unusable, and therefore not even the Datto device is reachable, it is possible to reactivate your servers directly from the Datto cloud console.

Datto devices placed in customer networks can be managed via a local network browser or through the management portal which allows visibility on all Datto devices. The wizards and the simple and immediate user interface will accompany even the less experienced in backup operations and departure after a disaster.
